My good friend Nadene (the one who supported me to get into wholefoods actually!) has become quite well known in our neck of the woods.

The reason?

Well, there’s two actually.

The first?

She designs b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l dresses over at Wynsum Wardrobe. Check out the dress-up day I had with her here.

The second?

Bliss balls.

She makes the b-e-s-t bliss balls.

Feast your eyes and your tummy on this Christmas variation!

Nadene says she really only makes these once a year at Christmas time for a special treat. ‘Cos once you start to eat these babies, it’s hard to stop.

The flavour combo is insane.

…And Merry Christmas from Nadene and I!

3 1/2 cups almond meal
3 1/2 cups rolled oats (pulse in food processor to be fine in texture)
1/2 cup cacao powder
Grated rind from one orange
3/4 cup chopped salted pistachios
1 cup chopped dark chocolate
1/4 cup chopped dried cranberries (or use dried sour cherries)
500g jar of rice malt syrup
Desiccated coconut for rolling

1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and stir well.
2. Roll mixture into balls and roll in coconut.
3. Refrigerate and indulge.

  • Peppermint Bliss Balls (Laini’s all-time fave!)
Same as above for almond meal, oats, cacao powder and rice malt syrup.  Add peppermint dark choc (or just plain ol’ dark choc will work too), and edible peppermint essential oil to taste (around 4 drops). Roll in coconut and refrigerate.

Laini Oldfield

Founder of the Wholefood Collective (TWC), Laini loves to feed her family well. Most of the time she pulls it off. Sometimes she doesn't.

Laini & her husband Jordan started TWC because 'doing' wholefoods was driving them nuts. It was confusing, time consuming, and expensive. They needed to find a way to marry up their values, time and budget. And so TWC was born.

TWC makes wholefoods doable for Aussie families, through access to big savings on highly vetted, premium wholefoods - delivered to your door, AND support & guidance on how to even DO wholefoods with a busy life.

You can find Laini at the beach, changing nappies (the end is near!), cooking up a storm, and always at her laptop in the wee hours of the morning.
