Organic Buckwheat Grain.
Organic buckwheat is a summer broad leaf summer crop, that requires a cool wet growing season to produce high quality grain. Buckwheat is not related to wheat, and is therefore gluten free. These organic kernels are freshly dehulled, ensuring a mild sweet flavour and optimum nutrition.
Buckwheat has a distinctive nutty flavour, is a low GI, high in magnesium, balanced in amino acids and naturally gluten free. It is a true ancient grain that can be cooked in a similar way to rice. One part buckwheat to two parts water, bring to the boil, lower heat and simmer for approximately 30 minutes.
This organic buckwheat is grown using sustainable farming methods, and is frozen (instead of fumigated, which is standard industry practice) to keep it super fresh and retain the highest quantity of nutrients. Additionally, this buckwheat is processed in a segregated gluten free facility. Organic farming uses the best of traditional agriculture and responsiveness to the land to create biodiversity and environmental balance; a sustainable approach free from artificial intervention.
This product is gluten free certified. The procedures are as follows:
a. Our Organics pack all gluten free products in a separate area to any gluten containing products.
b. All utensils are colour coded and cleaned separately.
c. They also pack gluten free products on specific days.
d. They are SQF & Haccp certified for food safety.
All these are preventive measures for any cross contamination
