Certified Fairtrade organic peppermint leaf
Tielka's herbal peppermint leaf pyramid infusers are made with certified organic peppermint leaves and nothing else.
Peppermint is proven to be calming and soothing to the digestive system. Due to the relaxing effects it has on the gut, its tea makes a great remedy for nausea and abdominal pain. Additionally, peppermint has shown to have significant antiviral and antibiotic properties, as well as being chock full of phytochemicals like vitamins and minerals, helping to support your body’s immune system. This is why peppermint tea can be a great addition to treating things like the common cold.
Peppermint can also help to relieve headaches. Menthol, an active ingredient in peppermint, has been shown to be a safe and effective remedy for headaches and migraines.
PLASTIC-FREE TEA BAGS
Did you know that brewing a plastic tea bag at 95°C releases around 11.6 billion microplastics, which are tiny pieces of plastic between 100 nanometres and 5 millimetres in size, into a single cup(source)?
Tielka's plastic-free tea bag fabric comes from a sustainable, bio-renewable source. They also opted not to seal their tea bags with harmful glue, but by ultrasound.
Tielka's tea bags are also industrially compostable.
Use one pyramid per person. Brew with 200ml freshly boiled water and infuse for up to three minutes.
Note From The Maker
I am unashamedly boastfully proud of this peppermint. Sadly I can't take any of the credit apart from finding the fabulous people that grow it, people who are nice to each other, people who say nice things to their plants, sing songs and live blissfully happy lives in peace and harmony. Ok, I may be imagining this in my own happy place here, but I quite like to imagine this is how things work in a Fairtrade plantation. I do know they are paid fair prices, support their women and invest into their community, their education and it seems only natural to bundle this up with a big cuddle of human joy.
Ah, but we're talking about peppermint here. I'm proud of this one because it exhibits an extremely rare touch of that hot freshness which is usually long gone in stock standard supermarket varieties. It's quite simple, it's actually super-duper fresh. You'll try it and never buy a different peppermint again. Unless of course, it's on special for $1.99 at your local supermarket and you'll buy it only to watch it go stale untouched (except for that first ghastly teabag) on your kitchen shelf for the next three years. Do yourself a favour, buy this one instead. Life is too short to drink horrible peppermint.
