Fibre supplements are usually made from a single source of fibre. Inside this booster are the following high quality, fibre-rich wholefoods:
Psyllium Husk, Organic
Supports regular digestion without increasing flatulence
Acts as prebiotic in the gut, feeding the good bacteria in the microbiome. Eating prebiotic foods is like throwing fertiliser on the microbiome lawn!
Beneficial for the heart and pancreas.
Linseed Meal (Flaxmeal), Organic
Nutritional powerhouse of vitamins, minerals and other health-promoting compounds
Wonderful meat-free source of quality protein
Rich in omega-3 fatty acids for brain and mood health. If you're a vegetarian or don’t eat fish, flax seeds could be your best source of omega-3 fats.
Super rich in a type of essential fatty acid that your body can't make itself - you must find it from the food you eat - alpha-linolenic acid or ALA.
Rich in an antioxidant called lignans. Small amounts of lignans have been shown in numerous studies to potentially be a valuable food in the fight against various cancers.
Chia Seeds, Australian White Spray Free
In terms of nutrient-density (nutrients per calorie), it's hard to beat the humble chia seed. Small but mighty, chia seeds pretty much have it all.
Packed with fibre, calcium and protein
Rich in Omega 3 Fatty Acids for brain and heart health
Did you know that if you sucked all the water out of our brains, we'd be left with mostly fat? That's how important good fats are for brain health.
Rich in a long list of minerals
Maca Powder, Organic
Maca is an adaptogen.
Adaptogens support the adrenal glands and help you adapt to stress.
Supports hormone balance
Encourages an alkaline state in the body
Raspberry Powder, Australian, Spray Free
Knowing that berries are so highly sprayed with harmful pesticides, it's really important to me that we sourced berry powder that was farmed organically. Because certified organic berries are ridiculously expensive, I tracked down the next best thing. I interviewed the president of the Chemical Free Association and asked for a quality farmer who doesn't use pesticides. He referred me to a local farmer whose soil tested flatline 0 for chemical or pesticides in the soil. So, we had raspberries from that very farm made into a freeze-dried powder for you, to retain all those beautiful pesticide-free nutrients! How cool is that?
Rich in an antioxidant called anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are what give the berries their rich colour, and are very powerful. Anthocyanin intake has shown improvement in memory and recall after 3 months.
Anthocyanins are not only great for the brain like we've spoken about, but have many other health benefits too, most notably, for the heart.
Raspberries are low in calories but high in the fab 4 - fibre, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
They may protect against diabetes, cancer, obesity, arthritis and other conditions. They may even provide anti-aging effects.
Hemp Seeds, Organic
The seed leader for zinc and magnesium.
A great wholefood source of quality protein, with all 9 essential amino acids.
Rich source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids for brain and mood health.
Rich source of Vitamin E.
Assists with immunity, energy production, gut health, growth and repair.
Lucuma Powder, Organic
1 teaspoon = 4g fibre
Boasts many vitamins and minerals including iron, niacin and beta-carotene.
Cacao Powder, Raw, Organic
Loaded with antioxidants (40x more than blueberries!)
Shown to help organs stay younger by reversing and preventing age-related organ damage, through increasing stem cells.
Improves blood flow
Switches immune system cells from inflammatory to anti-inflammatory states.
Can boost good bacteria in the gut, while controlling bad bacteria.
Reduces stress and anxiety.
Sri Lankan Cinnamon, Organic
Contains huge amounts of highly potent polyphenol antioxidants.
Has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body, which lowers the risk of disease by improving key risk factors like cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure.
Just 1/2-2 teaspoons per day has been shown to lower blood sugar levels and have a potent anti-diabetic effect.
Has been shown to dramatically reduce insulin resistance.
Further study needed to confirm whether cinnamon can protect neurons from degenerative diseases like Parkinsons and Alzeihmers.
Can help fight bacterial and fungal infections, and improve blood flow.
Coconut Flour, Organic
The most fibre-rich flour available, at 38% fibre!
Provides medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) - a type of fat linked to enhanced brain health.
A good source of iron
Rich in lauric acid - a type of fat that may fight harmful viruses, bacteria and fungi (though more research is needed).
Australian Green Banana Flour, Biodynamic
Rich in prebiotic fibre resistant starch for optimum gut health
Nutrient-rich. High in essential minerals and vitamins – potassium, zinc, magnesium, manganese and Vitamin E
What is it?
A blend of diverse and fibre-rich wholefoods that pair beautifully with anything sweet! This Fibre Booster Blend also has a savoury bestie on the way for all those yummy dinners too.
Australia's Gut Guru, Kirsty Wirth, teaches that the diversity of our fibre intake is just as important as the quantity of our fibre intake! Your gut demands a great deal of variety to foster a robust microbiome.
So we designed this beauty for you. Not only will it deliver approximately >3g of fibre in each 1 tablespoon serve, but it'll also deliver a significantly diverse range of powerful plant-based antioxidants, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals too.
We should be aiming to consume well over 35g of fibre each day, but so few people actually achieve that number. So any boosts we make throughout the day add up and help us make powerful steps forward in our health.
Fibre has 5 super powers:
1. Supports hormone health
2. Supports healthy weight management and balances cholesterol
3. Feeds your beneficial microbes and contributes to a robust microbiome. Fibre is like throwing fertiliser on your microbiome "lawn".
4. Supports easy to pass stools and healthy digestion
5. Helps control insulin spikes, blood sugar and cravings.
"One of the most powerful ways I pump up the diversity of fibres and nutrition my family gets, is through what I call 'boosting' a meal. Boosting a meal means adding a little something that has big nutritional payouts, to whatever you're already doing. It takes almost no effort, you don't need a recipe, and the benefits are numerous!" – Laini, TWC Founder
How To Use
1 serve = 1 tablespoon (7.8g)
Sprinkle over pancakes, apple crumble, whatever you're enjoying! You can also stir into anything you're going to eat right away, like your yoghurt, ready to go chia seed pudding, the sky's the limit. Just don't stir it into a batter or dessert where it'll have time to soak up the liquid. Because some of the fibres in this blend are hydrophilic, they will attract and suck up water.
This product is naturally gluten, nut and soy free. Please bear in mind that we do pack a wide range of natural food products on shared equipment including nuts, seeds, grains and cereals. This includes sesame, peanuts, soy and gluten. While we do our best to avoid any kind of cross contamination, this can occasionally occur and any of our products may contain traces of these, unless we have specified the product is otherwise certified.
TWC source some of these products as Certified Organic (spec sheets available on request). We then pack them down in a yet-to-be-certified organic facility. This means they can't be sold as Certified Organic (just 'Organic'). We're in the process of gaining our very own organic certification and expect this will be complete by the end of 2020. It's then that these very same high quality organic products will gain their 'certified' status on the TWC website. The product is no different whatsoever and the pack down area uses all organic cleaning agents. Clear as mud? ;)
