Back to where it started…
180 Nutrition was founded by Stuart Cooke and Guy Lawrence in 2010. With Stuart’s passion for health and fitness and Guy’s extensive work with a charity that helped people with chronic diseases (mainly cancer), they both came to realise that the mass food industry sucks. They also began to understand the power that food and exercise has in terms of healing and recovery.
Together they created a range of deeply nutritious superfood products that weren’t full of the artificial sweeteners, flavouring and chemicals that you’d normally find in similar products off-the-shelf. Instead they developed a product that was truly beneficial to your health and great for the whole family to enjoy.
Superfood on the go
180 Nutrition products are a fuss-free way to grab a meal on the go. Their grass-fed protein and vegan protein blends are 100% natural, gluten-free and perfect for the whole family.
They also offer what they call “upgrades”, a few including the Organic Greens Plus (full of good-for-you green stuff!), an Organic Peruvian Maca Powder and Organic Peruvian Cacao Powder – all perfect additions to your daily smoothie, shake or cooking.
All about health
Guy and Stuart are interested in more than just the food you eat. Their biggest mission is to help everyone understand what it takes to achieve overall optimum health.
Part of their offering is to provide an extensive range of easy-to-digest resources, articles, recipes and more; plus they’ve become a little bit infamous for their cracking podcasts and videos with leading health experts around the world.
180 Nutrition have created a vibrant community of like-minded individuals while also providing us with a nutritious superfood product which we love!
Ceres Organics, aptly named after the Roman goddess of the harvest, had a humble start in 1982 grown from the simple desire of a New Zealand mum wanting to feed her two growing boys organic food.
And because we know boys like to eat – a lot – by 1984, what had started as a biodynamic and organic fresh produce stand quickly became the very first organic food store in New Zealand, stocking only a few items, but nurtured with love and enthusiasm by both its staff and customers.
Always ahead of the game, in 2001 Ceres Organics were New Zealand’s very first BioGro certified organic distributor. And today they’re one of the leading premier certified organic Australasian distributors.
Every step of production, transportation, manufacturing and storage is certified organic; and is continuously assessed independently by BioGro.
Loving the planet one project at a time
Ceres Organics were also New Zealand’s very first EcoSocial certified company in 2009. They’re super passionate about supporting the sustainability of the people and the planet, sponsoring key projects such as Sustainable Coastlines and The Peru Social Project – which contributes to the environmental, social and economic well being of over 2000 children and their families in Peru.

Kitz soak all their nuts and seeds overnight in filtered water to activate them; and then slowly dehydrate them at 47 degrees.

Who is kkäo Co.?
kkäo Co. [pronounced “ka-kow Co”] was born out of a love for cacao and is essentially chocolate tea. Yummm!
Made from 100% cacao husk, which is the shell of the roasted cacao bean, this cacao tea is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Due to its natural qualities, it contains feel-good ‘bliss-chemicals’ known to promote feelings of happiness and wellbeing and is a natural and healthy way to experience chocolate!
The face behind kkäo Co.
kkäo Co. was created by Kara Conroy, a passionate and health-conscious foodie and chocolate lover through and through. Inspired by a trip to South America in 2013 where she discovered Cacao Tea, Kara knew she had to share this with the world.
With an interest in cooking since age four, Kara’s passion for food and health led her to do a course in integrative nutrition. So when she’s not bringing us chocolate tea, she’s experimenting with wholefoods, developing recipes and creating delicious alternatives to ‘naughty’ treats.
Quality cacao, sustainably sourced
When cacao beans are harvested from the cacao pods, they’re fermented, dried and then cracked to separate the nibs from the husk (shell). When the husk is brewed in hot water, it creates the chocolate infusion that is cacao tea. Cacao tea boasts many of the same health benefits as the cacao bean itself, which is why Kkäo Co. source the highest quality cacao husk from around the world, including Mexico, Peru and Vietnam. Their products are 100% natural and organic where possible, plus they’re sustainably & ethically sourced. They’re also free from any artificial additives, colours and preservatives.

One for the mamas
Founded by clever mama and avid baker Jess, The Milk Pantry is one for the breastfeeding mums out there who want to boost their milk supply and just be plain ol’ healthy.
After trying lactation cookies for the first time back in 2007, Jess realised they were a little touch of magic that she wanted to share with the world herself. So The Milk Pantry was born and we can’t get enough of it.
What’s in the Pantry?
There’s cookie mixes, brownie mixes, bliss bites and more! The Milk Pantry also stocks a whole range of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan products – all there to boost your milk supply naturally.
The Milk Pantry also stocks a few products which help mamas get back to their pre-baby weight (halleluja!) and they only ever source fresh, quality and certified organic (where possible) ingredients for all their products.
How does it work?
Jess is a firm believer that mums should only be nourishing their bodies with real food! Which is why The Milk Pantry uses special natural ingredients that contain galactogogues such as brewer’s yeast, organic flaxseed meal and organic oats. These active ingredients help stimulate your prolactin hormone which stimulate your breast milk. #the-milk-pantry-brings-all-the-babies-to-the-yard
Born in Bristol in 1966, Monica Topliss has a fascinating story of how she went from being a small child with coeliac disease to one of Australia’s leading gluten-free chefs, cookbook author and creator of Monica’s Mixes.
Her beautiful range of organic and gluten-free mixes are made of naturally dense, wholefood ingredients which “put the goodness back into gluten-free”.
Monica’s Mixes allow anyone to indulge in the delicious staples that are quite often avoided, while also providing more nutrition than most traditional products.
They also taste amaaazing and include a few firm favourites such as the bread mix, pizza base mix, banana bread, muffin mix and a yummy chocolate cake (mmm…love cake). They’re all gluten free, organic and filled with good-for-you wholefoods.
Topliss in the Kitchen
Monica has a signature cookbook called Topliss in the Kitchen (a catchy title!) which we love to recommend and will change the way you feel about gluten-free food forever. It has over 100 of her famous gluten-free recipes from breads and wraps to cakes and tarts. Proving that gluten-free recipes can taste just as good, if not better, than the “real thing”!

Australian roots to global organic leaders
Settled amongst the expansive space of the beautiful Murray-Darling Basin, in the heart of Sunraysia where the soil is rich and warm, Murray River Organics have set the roots of their vines to become the leading global suppliers of organically certified dried vine fruit.
All together, Murray River Organics control a whopping 4400 acres of organic certified farmland, along with a certified organic processing facility in New South Wales and an organically certified packaging facility in Victoria. Whoa – an impressive line up.
This integration makes their dried fruit 100% Australian (yeah!) and allows them to service customers globally as the largest vertically integrated organic dried vine fruit producer in the world.
Taking home the prize
In 2016 they won Farmer of the Year with the Australian Organic Annual Awards (whoop whoop) and they’re certified by the ACO (Australian Certified Organic) – the most respected and rigorous organic production standards in the world.
Leaders in healthy, yummy & sustainable snacking
Looking to become the global leader in all certified organic and natural products (they’re not stopping at just the vine fruit), Murray River Organics are sending all their healthy eating, snacking and lifestyle products across the world. Currently these include dried vine fruit, table grapes, nuts, seeds, dried berries, chia seeds, prunes, dried ginger, dried mango, quinoa, coconut products and rice.
Murray River Organics dream of a world where natural, better for you food products are real food choices for everyone. They’re super committed to providing a sustainable source of healthy food for future and current generations by continuing to implement great environment and manufacturing processes.
Natural Evolution Foods bring us an incredible story of second generation farmer Robert Watkins, thinking out the box to find better ways to use his Lady Finger banana crop.
Having already found success in his unique invention, The Banana Blankie (which helps reduce packaging and improve transport of bananas), Robert unwittingly discovered the now super popular superfood, Banana Flour, after driving over a dried out bunch on the road.
It took off from there and in 2014 they were able to secure a grant to assist in building the world’s first and only pharmaceutical grade banana flour factory. The facility saw output increase to over 8 tonnes a year, giving life to Rob and his wife Krista’s new business, Natural Evolution Foods.
What’s in the oven?
Natural Evolution Foods specialise in producing the highest quality banana flour for baking – and it’s gluten free!
It’s also the highest resistant starch supplement in the world, so you only need to use half the amount of banana flour compared to normal, plus it provides numerous health benefits including helping to prevent colon cancer and diabetes, promoting weight loss and boosting the immune system.
Natural Evolution Foods have some fun banana flour products such as a waffle and pancake mix, chocolate cake mix and a banana bread mix – just to name a few!
Healthy and sustainable
Natural Evolution’s bananas are biodynamically grown as well as chemical and pesticide free. They believe in a holistic farming approach, which takes the plant as the most important part of the process and understands their need to be healthy and thriving in order to produce nourishing beneficial food. As proof of this, their banana plants are loaded with bees, birds and frogs, which are incredibly sensitive and particular about where they call home.
For all their efforts in business and practising ethical and sustainable growing and manufacturing, Natural Evolution won the Banksia Sustainability Award in 2016, which is Queensland’s Premier Sustainability Award.
Spreading goodness globally
Organic Markets Direct is a family business – the real deal. OMD’s ethos is and always has been spreading the goodness, the very highest quality and providing real value to the customer. It is vital that real nutritional food and products are available to those that need it… Australian families. OMD love to see Mum, Dad and kids eating healthy! Real goodness should be affordable and, where possible, Australian-grown.
OMD’s range is small, but showcases the real goodness growing here in Australia. Their buckwheat is simply world class. Their proprietary brand Australian Grown Naturals is a real beacon, providing a gateway for Australian growers to shine, not just locally, but also internationally with export opportunities. Bottom line at OMD: it has to be A+ in quality and affordable.
For the planet
As of November 2016, OMD made the switch to solar and now run on 100% sun! Their solar panels power their hemp and grain processing equipment, lighting, flour mixers, temperature controls, workshop and kitchen. They really are setting the bar high for sustainable, biodynamic and environmentally-conscious Australian farming.
For the people
Peter, founder of OMD, raised his kids organically on the farm with home-grown fresh food, and believes all Australians have the right to the same affordable and nourishing goodness. The passion is real here.
Back to where it started
Just like the rest of us, Organic Merchants Tea know that tea makes everything better! Founded by the beautiful Chalimah Jeanne, the business was a natural extension of her naturopathic work, where she’d blend teas for clinic patients who were particularly low in vital energy.
Realising that everyone kept coming back for more, she launched her business at the local market with 12 herbal loose-leaf teas, and six years later, OM Tea now stock an extensive premium range of 35 different herbal teas, all naturopathically formulated and 100% Australian Certified Organic.
About the tea
Since starting, OM Tea has grown to include several ranges of tea including the more traditional teas, fruit based teas, pregnancy and breastfeeding tea, iced teas and the more recently launched mantra range of teas.
With 35 different teas to choose from, it’s safe to say there’s something for everyone. All the teas are made from the highest quality, organic, loose leaf herbal infusion. The loose leaf tea is hand-blended and minimally processed (the way we like it!) which of course means that the nutrients are at their highest potential.
Love the planet, Love the packaging
Chalimah is a self-confessed hippy at heart, so two years ago she went about overhauling all her packaging to be as earth-friendly as possible.
The entire range is presented in reusable glass jars and biodegradable sachet boxes made from 100% Australian recycled paper with a compostable plant-based cello-bag. It’s all either 100% biodegradable, compostable or recyclable. It looks beautiful and keeps the earth beautiful too! Check out our deep-dive into all things Organic Merchant. No compromise on taste
Pure Good Bars are super proud to offer a product that allows us to eat something full of great nutrients without compromising on the taste. They believe that life should be lived to the fullest and eating a healthy, balanced diet full of nutritious wholefoods is the way to go about it.
They only use quality and local sources where possible and all their ingredients (where stated) are certified organic. It’s not surprising to find that they were health category finalists in the 2016 Food Industry Awards!
Sunshine Nut Wholesalers take pride in supplying their customers with a range of organic, insecticide free and natural products to suit many and diverse requirements.
They source the freshest and best quality products from Australia and all around the world, keeping their products in a secure cool store facility, with optimum temperature and conditions maintained to ensure high product quality and nutrient retention.
Whispering Pines Organic have been a certified organic farm and mill since 2011. Owned and run by humble farmers Betina and Robert Walker, the husband and wife duo have faced many challenges on their property in Riverina, NSW.
But after a few setbacks, they started milling their wheat on-site in a bid to start providing a paddock-to-plate, premium product. Initially selling their products at the local market, they quickly gained momentum to where they were eventually able to build a two storey flour mill on their property. They now mill up to 250 tonnes of wheat a year.
What they’re milling
Whispering Pines Organic are well known for their paddock-to-plate premium products. With their own mill on-site, they’re able to provide a fresher alternative to store bought flour. This has proved particularly popular with Artisan Bakers for their sourdough bread.
They supply a variety of products, which include white spelt, wholemeal spelt, unbleached white flour, wholemeal flour and organic spelt grain. Yum!
From milling to winning
Whispering Pines Organic have won our hearts and some awards too! In 2015 they were runner up for “Women in Business” in the Australian Women’s Weekly Magazine. And in 2013 they were nominated “Farmer of the Year” by the weekly Times Newspaper.
Tonicka have a passion for “the real kombucha” and describe themselves as purists when it comes to the ancient brew. Their hand-crafted, fermented beverages are brought to life using ancient traditional methods and techniques, meaning their kombuchas take a minimum of 8 weeks to brew!
Tonicka only use certified organic ingredients and processes. They do not pasteurise, nor use any tricks, chemicals or sulfates to preserve their brew—and just like our ancestors, they do not need a fridge! Many people wonder “How this is possible?” The answer: a lot of practice, research and dedication.
Tonic for the soul
With Tonicka’s handcrafted perfection, kombucha is fast becoming a fermented delight that is changing the social drinking scene. “There is an actual, tangible link between emotions and state of mind and this drink,“ explains Anthony, cofounder of Tonicka. “A lot of people, even friends, wrote kombucha off as a hipster accessory. I put a bottle in their hand, they drink, and hours later they are asking where they can buy it.
Tonicka’s principle philosophy is to spread joy and make maintaining a healthy gut, happy mind and beautiful body easier for everyone.
